A New Life (poem)

What is this life I have today
Not what I’m used to, sorry to say
Was doing fine and then it came
Illness struck, no longer the same

Loved to hear the music and dance
Now don’t often get the chance
Riding a bike beside the canal
Do it again I hope I shall

My new life is crazy
Sometimes so very hazy
Hard to make plans for times ahead
Only on the day when I raise my h

But I mustn’t get down and mope
Even when on a sliding slope
Some days are better, make the most
Maybe will get to sit by the coast

A short while in the garden passes the time
The colours of the petals so divine
Swaying in the breeze they to and fro
Like these flowers, I too must grow

Easy to feel anger, full of wrath
Need to find a different path
To some hobbies had to say goodbye
Picked myself up and gave others a try

Been writing some poems, unable to ride
Have found in me a whole new side
